Respiratory Therapist - Day Shift

Location

Cincinnati, OH and KY

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day Shift: 3x12 hours

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as prescribed within their professional licensure. This role involves evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans while educating patients about procedures and equipment usage during discharge.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment.
  • Administer medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation as needed.
  • Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning through different methods.
  • Monitor oximetry and capnography, and review patients' chest x-rays for evaluation.
  • Assist with bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and other respiratory care procedures.
  • Perform tracheostomy care and handle arterial puncture according to policy.
  • Maintain mechanical ventilation and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation as required.
  • Communicate effectively with attending and pulmonary physicians about therapy efficacy.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, charging, and patient responses.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Ohio and Kentucky Respiratory Therapy licenses preferred. Experience in intensive care settings is beneficial.
