Job Description
The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for patient care in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, OR Techs, and other personnel to provide patient care according to the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, regulatory standards, physician orders, and hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring supplies and timeliness of cases
- Communicating with families and updating physician preference cards
- Scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases
- Supervising personnel delivering patient care
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, including prior travel experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
