Cardiac Cath/EP Lab Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)

Schedule

This position offers 10-hour shifts primarily during the day, with some late-night and on-call requirements based on unit needs.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) will play a vital role in assisting with invasive cardiac procedures. Responsibilities include preparing the procedure room and sterile field, setting up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment. The CVT will function in multiple roles within the procedure team, including scrub, circulator, and documenter/monitor. Strong organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the procedure room and sterile field for surgical procedures.
• Anticipate equipment needs during procedures and operate accordingly.
• Maintain sterile instruments and areas throughout the procedure.
• Perform varying roles in the procedure team, ensuring efficient workflow.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab Tech experience.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI or ARRT (preference for ARRT).
• Experience in Right Heart and Left Heart Hemodynamics, Cardiac Interventions, CTO, PCI, Pericardiocentesis, and Vascular Interventions.
• Mechanical Circulatory Support Experience: ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo.
• Structural Heart experience including TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, CardioMEMS, PFO, ASD, VSD, Valvuloplasty.
• Critical care or cardiac experience is required.
• Current certification in BLS (AHA) and ACLS.
• COVID vaccine card showing completion of the COVID series is required.
