Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 Hour Nights), every other weekend coverage required.
Job Description
The ECMO Specialist RN will be responsible for managing ECMO devices in both the CVICU and PICU units, providing critical care to patients in need of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support. This role requires both pediatric and adult experience, along with expertise in ECMO management protocols.
Responsibilities
- Float between the CVICU and PICU as needed.
- Manage ECMO devices during bedside ECMO cannulation and/or cannula repositioning procedures.
- Follow ECMO order sets and provider team directions for device management.
- Assist in caring for patients post cardiac surgery, in cardiogenic shock, or with critical acute illnesses requiring ECMO support.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current SC RN license.
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in ICU with ECMO specialty device course.
- Proficiency in EPIC charting system preferred.
- Prior charge experience preferred, with trauma level I and II preferred.
