Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 6-8 week contract position. The candidate must start on 6/08/26.

Schedule

Straight nights, 7 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday, with on-call duties per unit needs.

Job Description

The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, compassionate care. The nurse will manage patients' needs through their hospitalization, focusing on recovery, education, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological health.
• Develop and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately.
• Monitor and assess patient responses to medications and treatments.
• Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and families on managing conditions, post-hospital care, and recovery processes.
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control protocols and other safety measures.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies and provide immediate care as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of travel experience preferred.
• High acuity unit experience, mentorship, or charge experience required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Unencumbered Ohio RN License.
• Ability to arrive onsite within 1 hour when on-call.
