Description

Physical Therapist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

40 hours a week. Shifts vary between Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist will provide general Physical Therapy evaluations and treatments affecting patients' functional abilities across various ages and diagnoses. This role includes overseeing Physical Therapist Assistants and other designated staff and requires active engagement with patients and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and devise treatment plans.
  • Supervise and modify therapy plans based on patient responses.
  • Document patient encounters, findings, and treatment plans as per organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care and discharge planning.
  • Direct the work of support staff, students, or interns.
  • Educate patients and families on therapy programs and self-care methods.
  • Utilize hospital systems for patient information and operational directives.
  • Assist in fitting durable medical equipment based on patient needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical spaces.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Entry level qualifying master's or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in Alaska.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in adult outpatient rehabilitation.
  • Valid driver's license and must have an active Alaska license at the time of submission.
  • MUST HAVE FLU VACCINATIONS.
