This position operates on a night schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
Job Description
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients. The candidate must have a strong background in adult critical care and emergency department practices, as well as experience with various respiratory procedures and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures.
- Assist with intubation and extubation processes.
- Provide tracheostomy care and management.
- Manage mechanical ventilation and perform weaning protocols.
- Conduct sputum specimen collection and airway suctioning.
- Troubleshoot and address high-pressure alarms.
- Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience as an RRT.
- Current New York State Respiratory Therapy license is required.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) are mandatory.
