Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Schedule

3x12-Hour Shifts (10:30 AM - 11:00 PM), every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) is responsible for providing critical care to patients in a fast-paced emergency environment. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes for patients with a variety of diagnoses including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing care plans as required.
• Administer medications and treatments, including advanced life support measures.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for patient treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, treatment options, and health management.
• Participate in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives to enhance care delivery.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the EPIC charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3 years of emergency nursing experience required; travel experience preferred.
• Current MD RN state license and certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI, TNCC.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is mandatory.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Willingness to float within the emergency department as needed.
