Night shift with a 4x12.0 schedule, 48 hours per week, every 3rd weekend.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety. This role embodies the core values of delivering superior quality care, treating others with respect, and fostering teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and goals and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status between care providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
- Contribute to the functioning of the unit by providing direction and reassurance to staff, patients, and families.
- Assume charge responsibilities as needed and prioritize tasks for effective patient care.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (for CIRH only).
