Job Description
As a CT Technologist, you will independently perform imaging procedures and demonstrate expertise in a variety of technical procedures requiring sound judgment and initiative in the application of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Your role will involve utilizing complex imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, reconstruct, and document image data following established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform computed tomography procedures, including contrast administration and protocol adjustments.
- Utilize advanced imaging equipment to ensure optimal acquisition and documentation of image data.
- Demonstrate proficiency in venipuncture and power injector use, adhering to departmental and manufacturer protocols.
- Administer contrast media as per physician orders and departmental policy while assessing patient risk factors.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills by interacting compassionately with patients and collaborating efficiently with co-workers.
- Communicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to alleviate fears and ensure cooperation.
- Properly identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols before performing procedures.
- Review patient histories and physician orders to apply specific protocols for optimal imaging results.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient history in electronic records, and track exams for proper coding and charges.
- Adhere to system-wide competencies and behaviors while completing additional assigned duties.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program.
- CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the primary registry acquisition or date of hire.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the field is required.
- Relevant certifications: ARRT Certificate, Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC), Basic Life Support (BLS), PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.
Schedule
This position operates during the night shift, with an 8 x 5 schedule, ensuring a total of 40 hours per week.
