Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to perform imaging procedures independently, utilizing advanced technical expertise and clinical judgment. This position requires a commitment to applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes effectively.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform computed tomography procedures using established protocols, including contrast administration.
• Adjust imaging protocols based on independent judgment and utilize complex imaging equipment for data acquisition and documentation.
• Demonstrate venipuncture techniques and use power injectors per departmental protocols.
• Administer oral, rectal, and intravenous contrast media according to physician orders and departmental policy while assessing patient risk factors.
• Interact compassionately with patients and coordinate effectively with co-workers to expedite patient care.
• Communicate instructions to patients clearly to alleviate fears and encourage cooperation.
• Identify patients using two patient identifiers and adhere to universal protocols during procedures.
• Review and document patient history in electronic records as required, ensuring accurate coding, tracking, and archiving of exams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
• CT registry must be obtained within 18 months of primary registry acquisition or date of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• ARRT Certificate and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) are required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary.
• Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73 is required.

Schedule

This position is scheduled for the night shift, working 12-hour shifts over a 3-day period.
