Job Description
We are seeking an experienced ECMO Specialist Registered Nurse (RN) who is ECMO trained. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of ECMO Specialist (Circuit management) experience and 3 or more years of CVICU/ICU experience, as the role may involve floating to CICU/CVICU as needed. The position entails providing specialized care to patients with acute cardiac and respiratory failure while utilizing advanced mechanical circulatory support.
Responsibilities
- Manage and provide care for patients on ECMO, ensuring proper circuit management.
- Monitor and assess critical conditions in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective patient management and care delivery.
- Perform advanced procedures and maintain equipment required for ECMO therapy.
- Implement nurse-driven ECMO protocols and monitor patient vitals closely.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license and ECMO training.
- Minimum of 2 years of ECMO Specialist experience.
- 3+ years of ICU/CVICU experience preferred.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Preferred certifications: CES-A or E-AEC, LVAD.
- 1-year minimum experience with EPIC EMR required.
