Professional Staff Nurse

Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and integral member of the care delivery team. This role involves setting the standards for the level and quality of nursing care, managing and providing patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, and applying independent judgment in collaboration with all team members. The Professional Staff Nurse demonstrates leadership, partnership, and the ability to establish collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in department-specific quality improvement efforts and take personal responsibility for improving patient satisfaction.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to enhance clinical care and influence patient care plans.
• Apply the nursing process within a Relationship Based Care framework to create a healing environment.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues for patient care.
• Maintain comprehensive patient documentation to promote effective communication between caregivers.
• Provide detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families throughout the care episode.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships while demonstrating accountability, enthusiasm, and commitment.
• Identify and report safety hazards in the workplace.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RN required; BSN preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience
• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73

Schedule

This position is for a Day Shift, requiring 12-hour shifts over 3 days a week.
