Professional Staff Nurse - Rotating Shift

Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a crucial member of the care delivery team. This role is responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of nursing care, managing and providing patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The Professional Staff Nurse encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision while establishing and maintaining relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Actively participate in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts and take personal responsibility in improving patient satisfaction with the quality of care and service.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to support improvements in clinical care, discussing opportunities for quality improvement during multidisciplinary rounds.
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment, formulating daily goals and care plans that involve patients as active partners.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, and psychological issues for patient care.
• Practice solid communication skills to effectively articulate patient conditions and negotiate changes in care and practices.
• Provide education to patients and families, guiding them through their care episodes and transitions to different levels.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships by demonstrating accountability, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to colleagues and patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Must comply with PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 73 regulations.

Schedule

This position involves a rotating shift schedule of 12 hours, working 3 days per week.
