Professional Staff Nurse - Rotating Shift - 12 x 3

Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a vital member of the care delivery team. This role is responsible for setting standards for the level and quality of care, managing and providing patient care activities, and applying independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.

The Professional Staff Nurse encompasses leadership, partnership, and supervision, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with physicians, patients, and their families to achieve desired outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to support improvements in clinical care.
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship-Based Care to create a healing environment.
• Formulate daily goals and a patient-centered plan of care considering individual needs.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying clinical, safety, and psychological issues.
• Practice solid communication skills to articulate and translate patient conditions to all care providers.
• Create a compassionate and patient-focused experience by building healing relationships.
• Serve as a highly engaged and full partner on the care team.
• Demonstrate knowledge of adult learning principles in teaching patients and families.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RN license required; BSN preferred.
• 2 years of experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Compliance with local state laws including PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 73 for individuals in the state of Pennsylvania.

Schedule

This position works on a rotating shift schedule of 12 hours per shift, 3 days per week.
