Professional Staff Nurse - Day Shift

Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a vital member of the care delivery team. This position is responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of nursing care, managing and providing patient care activities, and utilizing independent judgment and effective communication to collaborate with all team members. The Professional Staff Nurse plays a crucial role in leadership, partnership, and supervision while establishing productive relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Actively participate in department-specific quality improvement efforts and take personal responsibility for enhancing patient satisfaction.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to support clinical care improvements and discuss quality enhancement opportunities.
• Apply the nursing process to create a healing environment, formulating daily goals and plans of care while considering patient needs holistically.
• Demonstrate solid communication skills and articulate patient conditions effectively to other care providers.
• Contribute to creating a caring and compassionate patient-focused experience by nurturing strong relationships with patients and families.
• Engage as a full partner on the care team, adapting to changes and demonstrating flexibility during transitions.
• Educate patients, families, and new staff effectively, fostering an environment of open dialogue.
• Develop productive working relationships internally and externally, demonstrating accountability and commitment to colleagues and patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) License required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Compliance with PA Act 31, 33, 34, and 73 required

Schedule

This position is a Day Shift role, scheduled for 12-hour shifts over 3 days per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
