Job Description
The Ultrasound Technologist performs and assists with various types of ultrasound procedures, adhering to protocols established by radiologists. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper patient preparation, and operating ultrasound machines. This role is integral to the Fetal Center, a high-risk obstetric specialty practice that provides advanced prenatal ultrasound, fetal monitoring, genetic counseling, and maternal-fetal medicine services for pregnant patients with complex medical or pregnancy-related issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound procedures following established protocols.
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment for daily operations.
- Ensure proper patient preparation prior to examinations.
- Coordinate care with obstetric providers, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, sonographers, nurses, and support staff.
- Manage routine follow-up care and urgent evaluations for patients throughout the pregnancy continuum.
Schedule
This position offers a 5 × 8 hour shift schedule, working Monday to Friday from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM. No weekends or holiday shifts are required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a 2-year AMA approved Ultrasound program.
- 2+ years of experience in Ultrasound, preferably with high-risk OB or Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
- RDMS-OB certification required.
- BLS certification preferred.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer license required.
