Respiratory Therapist with Trach Experience

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision. The role involves evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, and educating patients about their treatments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine treatments using various ventilatory and oxygen delivery equipment.
• Perform suctioning, oximetry, capnography, and chest physiotherapy.
• Review patients' chest x-rays and conduct pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, Perc Trachs, and chest tube placements.
• Provide tracheostomy care and perform endotracheal tube insertions and removals.
• Communicate with attending physicians about therapy efficiency and report information during shift transitions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and respiratory therapy charging, including data entry and error correction.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid Respiratory Therapy licensure.
• Experience with trach care and related procedures.
• Familiarity with ventilatory equipment setup and monitoring.
• Knowledge of pulmonary function testing and emergency protocols.
