Occupational Therapist

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises Occupational Therapy treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This role requires a commitment to patient and employee safety, valuing superior quality of care, and maintaining respectful interactions with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and plan appropriate treatments.
  • Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning for each patient.
  • Complete documentation following department policies and procedures, including daily progress notes.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT/COTA students, ensuring competency in treatment application.
  • Maintain a customer service attitude towards patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Evaluate and administer appropriate evaluation procedures based on patient diagnosis and medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, ensuring understanding of treatment plans.
  • Budget time effectively, set priorities, and display flexibility in scheduling.
  • Instill confidence in patients and team members, promoting a safe environment for all.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Must hold a valid, current state license as an Occupational Therapist.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy.

Schedule

This position operates on a Day 5x8.0 schedule.
