Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical

Job Description

This position is for an experienced Registered Nurse in a medical-surgical setting. The selected candidate will be responsible for patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality, compassionate care. The Med-Surg RN will manage patient needs throughout hospitalization, focusing on recovery, education, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological health upon admission and throughout their hospital stay.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and monitor patient responses.
• Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and document assessments and interventions in accordance with hospital policies.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and families on managing conditions and post-hospital care.
• Ensure patient safety by following infection control protocols and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies and provide immediate care for life-threatening conditions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required.

Schedule

This position includes straight nights, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
