Schedule
Day shift: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (30-minute lunch) for a 12-hour shift.
Job Description
The Acute Care Float Registered Nurse will be assigned by the nursing supervisor to various units as staffing needs arise. The position requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to different patient care environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients with varying acuity levels across multiple units.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, and provide updates as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records in Cerner EMR.
- Float to various departments as assigned, which may include Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Trauma, and Cardiac Surgery units.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable acuity hospital.
- Active and unencumbered TN RN license or multi-state license required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Cerner EMR experience is mandatory.
