Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting safety and efficiency within the healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding each patient’s diagnosis.
• Provide timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses according to policy.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to all care providers to support continuity of care.
• Supervise and support ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Assume charge responsibilities and participate in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and clinical training.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a valid RN license.
• BLS Certification required before first shift.
• ACLS Certification required before first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.

Schedule

This position is for a night shift, working 4x12 hour shifts.
