Registered Nurse - OB/Postpartum

Schedule

Nights 7 PM - 7 AM, Every 3rd Weekend. On-call required if HCP is lowed, must arrive within 30 minutes if called in.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the OB/Postpartum department is a professional caregiver responsible for planning, providing, and directing patient care and education. This role involves utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. The RN acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families while collaborating with other healthcare team members. This position also includes assisting in the orientation of new personnel and participating in health center and department committees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients, ensuring safety and educational needs are met.
• Establish and communicate a collaborative plan of care with other involved disciplines based on assessment data.
• Implement and evaluate the plan of care, modifying it based on reassessment of patient status.
• Complete all documentation accurately and utilize established documentation tools.
• Assess the readiness of patients and significant others to learn and implement individualized education plans.
• Actively participate in nursing initiatives and departmental activities, including in-service opportunities.
• Provide age-appropriate care in accordance with organizational standards.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and professional standards to provide a quality service experience to all patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in OB, Postpartum, and/or Labor & Delivery.
• Current unencumbered RN license in Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.
• STABLE Certification.
