Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Day Shift

Day shift, 5 days a week from 07:15 to 15:45.

Job Description

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant to support a variety of surgical cases. The ideal candidate will have experience in a teaching hospital and community hospital settings, and a commitment to providing high-quality surgical assistance in the operating room.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-assist support in various surgical procedures including General Surgery, GYN, Neurosurgery/Spine, Orthopedics, Trauma, and Urology.
• Utilize surgical skills such as tissue handling, clamping, suctioning, and wound closure.
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure proper instrument processing and sterilization.
• Participate in both weekday and weekend call coverage as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical First Assistant experience is required.
• Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA certification, and CSFA, ABSA, or similar certifications are required.
• No Maryland state licensure requirement is specified.
• Experience with various surgical techniques and procedures such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery is expected.
