Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible to the Unit Director/Manager for the overall nursing practice of the unit during the assigned shift. In the absence of the Unit Director/Manager, the RN is accountable to the Clinical Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Clinical Coordinator of the shift. The RN provides professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge through the nursing process. This includes assessing patients' needs, developing plans of care, implementing nursing measures, and evaluating the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatment measures.
Responsibilities
- Effectively function as a team member and act as a liaison between patients and staff.
- Support and encourage harmonious communication among team members.
- Demonstrate strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- Maintain professionalism in all communication at all times.
- Exhibit a high level of mental and emotional resilience when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Utilize tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional demeanor in all interactions.
Required Experience
- 2 years of previous RN experience is required.
Certifications / Licensure
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
