This position requires working the Day Shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical Stepdown unit is responsible for providing total patient care to a diverse patient population. The nurse will work within a 28-bed unit that may experience patient ratios of 5:1 and sometimes 6:1. Familiarity with Cerner as the electronic medical record (EMR) is essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic nursing care to patients in the Medical-Surgical Stepdown unit.
- Monitor patient status and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed.
- Document patient care activities in the EMR system.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Experience
A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current Tennessee RN license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification.
