This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

This position requires a Night Shift schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 18:30 to 07:00, with weekend shifts every other weekend as scheduled.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide critical care to a diverse patient population including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The role requires proficiency in a variety of respiratory therapies and procedures, as well as collaboration with other healthcare professionals within the unit. The therapist will utilize the Epic charting system and may need to float within the specialty to support critical care as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed.
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment.
• Assist with intubation and extubation procedures.
• Perform arterial blood gas assessments and manage results.
• Provide care for patients with tracheostomies and other respiratory interventions.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and therapies.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, with strong pediatric and adult care experience.
• Previous Charge experience preferred.
• Experience with the Epic charting system is required.
• Hospital experience, particularly in a community hospital or LTAC setting preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RRT or CRT certification required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
• NRP certification preferred.
