Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, ensuring patient and employee safety in accordance with Select Medical's core values. The focus will be on establishing an individualized plan of care, supporting rehabilitation programs, and facilitating effective communication among the interdisciplinary team for quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and collaborative input from patients and families.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing patient/family education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Ensure effective communication of patient status changes among care providers.
• Supervise training and direction of ancillary nursing staff, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of nursing care and adhere to safety policies.
• Promote a positive work environment by contributing to team-building initiatives.
• Maintain communication regarding service needs related to supplies and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibility as needed post-orientation.
• Pursue professional development actively through continuing education.

Required Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift for CIRH only.
