Job Description
The 4A unit at Jeanes Campus is an adult Med Surg/Oncology unit providing care exclusively for inpatients. The unit features 21 beds and cares for patients with a variety of medical, surgical, and oncology diagnoses.
Nurses on this unit collaborate with a dedicated team in a supportive environment. The patient population includes individuals diagnosed with cancer, stroke, congestive heart failure, end-stage renal disease, alcohol/opioid withdrawal, abdominal pain, and other general medical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for medical-surgical and oncology patients.
- Administer medications, including titrated medications such as Heparin and Lasix.
- Perform procedures such as chest tube setup, tracheostomy care, and CPR.
- Manage lines, drains, and equipment such as PCA pumps and wound VACs.
- Conduct assessments, monitor patient conditions, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
Required Experience
- Experience in medical-surgical and oncology nursing.
- Familiarity with procedures and care associated with oncology and surgical patients.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
