Friday to Sunday, 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM (three 12-hour shifts with no on-call responsibilities).

Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a high-paced environment at a Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. The technologist is responsible for creating diagnostic images using CT technology while ensuring a safe and positive experience for patients. They will be involved in trauma and emergency room scanning as well as performing CT exams on outpatients, inpatients (stable and intensive care), research patients, and those requiring specialized CT scan-guided procedures. Continuous learning and adherence to radiation safety measures in compliance with New York State Department of Health code part 16 are essential to this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans on various patient populations including trauma, emergency room, outpatients, and inpatients.
• Support clinical evaluation and patient care through technical expertise in CT technology.
• Enforce established radiation safety measures according to regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in ongoing education and training regarding advancements in CT technology.

Required Experience

Entry-level candidates are welcome, with MIT level assigned based on skill set and experience.

Certifications/Licensure

• New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
