Schedule/Shift
This position requires three 12-hour night shifts per week. Call and weekend coverage are required.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery will provide comprehensive care for patients during labor and delivery, as well as perform triage assessments, inductions, cesareans, and newborn stabilization procedures. The RN will document patient information using EPIC and collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams. The role requires floating to other units based on need while ensuring all patient care standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Conduct triage assessments and manage patient care throughout the labor and delivery process.
- Administer medications and perform procedures such as Mag Sulfate administration and newborn resuscitation.
- Document patient care and interventions accurately in the EPIC system.
- Provide educational support to patients and families regarding care and discharge instructions.
- Assist in postpartum care and monitor for complications related to deliveries.
Required Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery and 1 year of experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
Certifications/Licensure
- Active RN license in Tennessee
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- AWHONN Intermediate Certification
- NRP Certification
