Shift: Nights  (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurses to join our Float Pool for the Medical Surgical Telemetry (MST) unit. This is a 48-hour contract position requiring full-time commitment, including every other weekend and holidays. As a Float RN, you will provide flexible support across designated medical-surgical units, delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Unit Description

• Support medical-surgical units (3W, 5N, 5S) with a focus on adult patients.
• Manage respiratory care, including high-flow oxygen and BiPAP.
• Monitor telemetry for cardiac patients.
• Care for stroke patients, observation cases, and those requiring heparin or Cardizem drips.
• Proficiency in ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in medical-surgical telemetry settings.
• Administer and monitor respiratory therapies, including high-flow oxygen and BiPAP.
• Conduct telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Deliver specialized care for stroke patients, utilizing NIHSS assessments.
• Manage intravenous drips such as heparin and Cardizem, ensuring accurate dosing and monitoring.
• Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Respond to emergencies using ACLS protocols.
• Float between assigned units (3W, 5N, 5S) as needed to support staffing requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in every other weekend and holiday rotations as required.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant medical-surgical or telemetry setting.
• Licensure: Active New Jersey RN License (must be in hand at the time of application).
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) required.
• Commitment: Must commit to 48 hours per week, including every other weekend and holidays.

Additional Details

• Flu Immunization: Mandatory unless a valid medical exemption with supporting documentation is provided.
• Scrub Policy: Any color scrubs are acceptable as long as they are clean and neat.
