Description
The Radiologic Technologist performs procedures that will require independent judgment--with ingenuity and initiative--to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. He/she assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. The Radiologic Technologist provides appropriate age-specific patient care to the following patient populations: infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric.
Minimum Job Requirements Education Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology Certification / License
- Current ARRT registry
- Current BCLS certification
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work requires typing, filing, use of telephone and sitting for prolonged periods of time. Stretching, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling requires a moderate amount of time. May lift and carry up to 75 pounds on an intermittent basis. Some standing and Walking is required. Must speak and understand English fluently. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate and concentrate effectively. Good hearing is required for related communications. Preferred Job Requirements

● About Facility:
o How many licensed beds? CMC 874, LCH 247
o Level I Trauma; Level 1 Pediatric Trauma
o Teaching Hospital
o Chest Pain Center
o Stroke Center
● Department Information:
o Average patients/day? 350-400
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Adults and Pediatrics from ED, ICUs, Nursing units and outpatients across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnosis'
● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
o BLS
o ARRT-R
● Skills required:
o Confident of their clinical skill sets with ability to work in a fast paced, high patient acuity environment. Good communication skills and attitude of helpfulness and teamwork strongly preferred.
● Support within the Department:
o All departments have a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager. Diverse team with various years of experience from new grads to long tenure teammates.
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o Department specific Equipment: Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Intelli-C multipurpose, Konica and Shimadzu portables, Client and Siemens R/F rooms
● Floating: If yes, where?
o No
● Orientation (facility and unit) :
o Facility tour, departmental tour with introductions.
o 5 days departmental orientation but flexible based on needs of traveler
● Scheduling:
o Rotations: No rotations between weekends and weekdays. Travelers would stay on days and shifts per the contract.
o Call requirement: Call varies and is staffed with a fair rotation between full time, part time, PRN and Traveler teammates. Frequency depends on the size of the team based on fair rotation to share the responsibility equally.
o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will be expected to help holiday coverage unless approved off in advance.
o RTO: Manager approval
o Shift times: We are staffed 24/7/365 so travelers would fill whatever shift is currently vacant. Not rotating but per contract on 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd shifts or weekends based on need.
o Schedule cycle: Traveler contract are 13 weeks and travelers would work the same shift and times as agreed upon in the contract.

o Scrub Color: Technologists = Black
o Parking: Free teammate parking across several parking decks
o Department Culture: Good teamwork, high clinical skill sets, able to work in fast paced environment.
