G Shep - Interventional Platform

Facility has 176 licensed beds, Level 2 trauma center, Magnet Designation, Primary Stroke Center. Unit has 4 procedure rooms (pre/post area staffed by different unit). EPIC and MERGE charting system. Traveler can expect to receive 1-3 days of orientation (based on comfort level) to learn flow of unit. Procedural scrubs provided by facility. Free parking onsite.

● General Information
o Beds: 4 procedures rooms (pre and post area is staffed by a different unit)
▪ This is a combined Cath Lab/IR department, but there are dedicated Cath and dedicated IR staff
o Experience? 2 years of Cath Lab experience; IR preferred
o First-time traveler? Upon Review
● Patient Types:
o Cath Lab - Invasive cardiology, structural heart program, AAA repairs, TAVRs, ablations (required)
o IR - Non-invasive and invasive procedures. Biopsies, peripheral interventions (preferred)
● Patient Ratios:
o There are 3 people in the procedure room. 2 Nurses, 1 Tech
● Required Certifications:
o RN - ACLS, BLS
o IR Techs - BLS, ARRT-R, ACLS (preferred)
o Invasive Cardiac Tech – BLS, ACLS, ARRT-R
● Skills required
o RN: 2 years in either cath lab. Record and circulate procedures. Moderate sedation (normally Fentanyl and Versed) they will get a sign off onsite. Experience with above cath lab patient types.
o Techs: Scrub and Record. 2 years' experience in either cath lab or IR (need dependent)
● Charting System/Equipment:
o EPIC, MERGE charting system
● Floating:
o Between cath lab and IR per skillset
● Orientation:
o 1-3 Days on the unit
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation – Just call
o We can approve up to 7 days off
o Call:
▪ Nurse - 1 week every 3 weeks - If this is a deal breaker the manager is willing to discuss
● 530pm-730am weekdays and 24/7 weekends
▪ RT - 1 week every 3 or 4 weeks depending on role
o Holiday Expectations: just call
