Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: 3855 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA 30096
Schedule: Nights (3 shifts, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) – 36 hours/week

Note: No local candidates within a 50-mile radius.

Unit:

  • 10-bed ICU
  • 22-bed IMCU

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide direct and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU/IMCU, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing specialized equipment.
  • Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including collecting data on physical and emotional conditions, analyzing lab results, and identifying any changes in patient status.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team (physicians, respiratory therapists, and other nursing staff) to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs and other health indicators closely, making adjustments in care as necessary, and alerting the medical team to changes.
  • Critical Interventions: Administer life-saving medications, manage life support equipment, and provide emergency care when necessary.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, ensuring all interventions are documented.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and recovery processes, providing emotional support and counseling as required.
