Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 3x12s | 36 Hours/Week
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Recovery/PACU nursing experience required
- AHA BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- No local candidates within 50 miles
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Recovery is responsible for providing specialized post-procedural and recovery care to patients following surgical procedures, anesthesia, and other medical interventions. The RN will monitor patient conditions, manage recovery needs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients during the post-anesthesia and recovery phase
- Provide direct nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions
- Monitor vital signs, airway status, neurological status, and pain levels
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition or post-procedural complications
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families regarding recovery expectations, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
