Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• AHA BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Cerner experience required
• CCRN preferred
• NIHSS preferred
• No local candidates within 50 miles

Unit Overview

This is a General Medical Surgical ICU providing comprehensive critical care services for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions requiring intensive monitoring and advanced nursing care.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit is responsible for delivering high-quality critical care nursing to patients with acute and complex medical or surgical conditions. The RN will work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to monitor, assess, and manage critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill ICU patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring
• Administer medications, IV drips, blood products, and advanced therapies as ordered
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, ventilators, and critical lab values
• Operate and manage critical care equipment and monitoring systems
• Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Cerner electronic medical record system
