Department: 660A Surgery – Ground Floor – Surg Tech

Location: Atlanta GA 30342
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday
  • Shift Schedule:
    • 2 days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
    • 2 days: 10:45 AM – 7:15 PM
  • Days | 3x12s | 36 Hours/Week

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience required
  • Recent Neuro and Thoracic surgical experience required
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Cerner experience required
  • No local candidates within 50 miles

Unit Overview

The Main Surgical Unit at Northside Atlanta Campus operates 24/7 with a daily surgical case volume ranging from 28–55 procedures. The department supports multiple high-volume service lines including:

  • Orthopedics
  • Neuro
  • Urology
  • General Surgery
  • Thoracic Surgery

The unit also utilizes 3 DaVinci XI robotic systems supporting general, urology, and thoracic surgical procedures.

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting surgeons and healthcare teams during surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are available and functioning properly. The Surgical Technologist will support a fast-paced surgical environment with a strong focus on Neuro and Thoracic procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environments for surgical procedures
  • Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to procedure requirements
  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
  • Support Neuro, Thoracic, Orthopedic, Urology, and General Surgery cases
  • Assist with robotic surgical procedures utilizing DaVinci XI systems
  • Perform instrument counts and ensure surgical supplies are accounted for
  • Monitor and maintain surgical equipment functionality and sterility
