🏥 Facility & Department Profile
The position is located within a dedicated children's hospital providing care strictly for neonate to pediatric age ranges.

Capacity: 247 Licensed Beds

Acuity Levels: Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center | Level IV NICU (Highest Level)

Type: Teaching Hospital, Chest Pain Center, Certified Stroke Center

Support: Dedicated Respiratory Leadership on-site.

Floating: None. RTs will not be floated to other facilities due to the specialized nature of this unit.
🛡️ Requirements & Compliance
1. Experience & Skills
-
Minimum Experience: 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience (Resource Team) within the past 5 years.

Pediatric Mandate: Must have had 100% pediatric-only assignments (mixed-age population experience is not accepted).

Clinical Settings: Experience across ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and General Med Floors.

Equipment Proficiency: Strong IPPV / NIPPV ventilator experience.

Note: The submission offer email must explicitly state the candidate's exact amount of ED or ICU level experience.
2. Licenses & Certifications

State License: North Carolina (NC) Licensure required.

Professional Board: RRT or CRT.
-
Life Support Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
💻 Technology & Onboarding
-
EMR System: EPIC
-
Note: Travelers will need to test out of EPIC to ensure faster onboarding.

Orientation Schedule: 3 days of total onboarding for the ED and general floors. Includes 2 days of computer training, equipment review, and facility walkthroughs.

Intensive Care Buffers: Travelers with experience in multiple intensive care units will receive 1 additional day of orientation in each specific unit they will be covering.
📅 Scheduling & Time Off Expectations

Schedule Cycle: Every 6 weeks.

Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend required.
-
On-Call / Call-Back: None.

Holiday Commitment: Must work 75% of holidays.

Requested Time Off (RTO):
-
Up to 6 days off can be approved (strictly excluding holidays).
-
If RTO causes you to fall short of your contracted hours, those days must be added as an extension to the end of your contract.
