Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Surgery Trauma Unit)
Location:
Grady Memorial Hospital
Position Details
- Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical
- Unit: Surgery Trauma / High Acuity Floor
- Duration: 8 Weeks
- Schedule: Night Shift – 3x12s
- Hours: 36 hours/week
- Location: Atlanta, GA
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg or Trauma specialty
- BLS certification required
- ACLS preferred
- EPIC experience required
- Must be willing to work assigned shifts — no block scheduling available
Patient Population
- Surgical patients
- Trauma and gunshot wound patients
- Quadriplegic and paraplegic patients
Unit Details
- High-acuity Surgery Trauma floor
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1
- Nursing Support Technicians available
- Phlebotomists available on unit
- Unit secretary available during night shift
- ED nurses and admitting unit complete nurse handoff process
Preferred Skills
- Strong trauma and post-surgical care experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Experience caring for complex medical and trauma patients
