Job Title: RN IR
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Cudahy, WI
Shift: 8-430
● About Facility:
o Located: Cudahy, WI
o 100 Beds
o Level IV Trauma
o 20 minutes from Milwaukee, WI
o Stroke Center
● Unit Information:
o Beds: 1 IR Suite, 1 Minor Procedure Room
▪ Census? Average patients/day? 5-8
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of IR experience
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Older population, known as a community hospital.
o General IR: Nephrostomy tubes, sonograms, port placements, biopsies, angiograms for legs with interventions, PE thrombectomies, embolizations, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, paras/thoras. No chemotherapy or Neuro procedures
● Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS
o ARRT
o WI state license in hand at time of application
● Skills required: IR tech experience
o Experience with above case types
o Will scrub/pan simultaneously
o Preferred if comfortable charting/coding for cases, but not required
● Support within the Department:
o Radiologists
o Radiology PA for minor procedures
o Lead Tech/Lead RN
o Management
o Rapid Response/Code Team
o Respiratory Therapy
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Pyxis
o PACS: McKesson
o Unit specific equipment: Client Fluoro Machine, US machine, Inari (rep usually comes)
● Floating: If yes, where?
o Will float to CT to help with procedures (will not operate CT equipment, only to help with procedures)
● Orientation (facility and unit) :
o NEO
o 2-3 shifts of unit orientation
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: On call
o On call? Yes
▪ Every 3 weeks for a week at a time Monday 1600-the following Monday 0700
▪ 45-minute response time
▪ 1 Tech, 1 RN on call
o Holiday Expectations: Could be on call for 50% of holidays in a contract
o Approval of RTO: to go through manager
o Shift times: Five 8h shifts, 0800-1630
o Schedule cycle: schedule made in 12-week increments
● Other notes:
o Scrub Color: Scrubs provided. If wanting to lock locker, will need to bring own lock
o Parking: Free? Yes
o Unit Culture: Upbeat, all females currently, except for physicians and Client who rotate through.
