Pediatric Registered Nurse (Peds RN) – Contract Assignment

Position Details

• Position: Pediatric Registered Nurse (Peds RN)
• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM Start)
• Schedule: 36 Hours Per Week
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd Weekend
• Orientation Date: July 23

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent full-time Pediatric Nursing experience
• Active Pennsylvania RN License or Compact RN License
• Current BLS (AHA) Certification
• Current NRP Certification
• BSN Required

Unit Information

• 8-bed Pediatric Unit
• All private patient rooms
• Typically staffed with 1–2 Registered Nurses per shift
• Nurse-to-patient ratio generally ranges from 1:1 to 1:3

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for pediatric patients
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection prevention protocols
