Description

●        About Facility:

 

o    60 bed facility

 

o    Level IV Trauma Center

 

o    Stroke Ready Facility

 

o    Mount Pleasant, WI

 

●        Unit Information:

 

o    Beds: 2 CT Scanners, shared back-to-back with control room

 

▪         Census? Average patients/day? Approximately 20 scans a shift per tech

 

o    Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of acute care CT experience

 

o    Will you accept a first-time traveler? No, unless 10 years of CT experience

 

●        Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

 

o    Outpatient, ED, inpatients, Level II Trauma scans. Could see an infant (rare), but usually toddler and up, mostly adults.

 

o    Strokes, brain CTAs, CT perfusions, abdomen, extremities, spine, neck, head, pulmonary embolisms

 

●        Required License, National Certification, Certs:

 

o    ARRT (CT) and WI License, BLS

 

●        Skills required:

 

o    Experience with above patient types, strokes/brain CTAS, comfortable working independently

 

o    Canon and Toshiba experience HIGHLY preferred. Send for manager approval if candidate does not have this experience

 

o    IV starts, CT Perfusions, and experience with biopsies/special procedures preferred. Please include in offer email if candidate has experience with these items

 

●        Support within the Department:

 

o    2 CT Techs for Days, 1 CT tech after 1830

 

o    Imaging Patient Assistant- transports, turns room around, stocks. Leaves at 2100

 

o    Concierge at Imaging Desk for outpatient needs

 

o    Radiology Nurse until 1600

 

o    Phlebotomy in hospital

 

o    House Supervisor – will support IV after hours if needed

 

o    Lead CT Technologist on site during day shift

 

o    RT 24/7

 

o    MRI and X-ray 24/7

 

●        Technology/Equipment:

 

o    EMR: EPIC – preferred

 

o    PACS: McKesson

 

o    Med dispensing: Pyxis

 

o    Unit specific equipment: Canon Scanners 80 slice & 40 Slice

 

●        Floating: If yes, where?

 

o    No

 

●        Orientation (facility and unit) :

 

o    NEO

 

o    3 days of unit orientation

 

●        Scheduling:

 

o    Weekend rotation: Refer to requisition for shifts

 

o    On call? No

 

o    Holiday Expectations: If it falls on scheduled day, will work it

 

o    Approval of RTO: to go through manager

 

o    Shift times: Refer to requisition for shift and schedule

 

o    Schedule cycle: Set schedule

o    Scrub Color: Any solid color, professional; no graphics, logos, designs

 

o    Parking: Free parking lot
