We are one of the Colorado EDs that decreased our opioid usage by 34% by using alternatives to opioids (ALTO) pain management therapies...our community loves it and often chooses us for this specific reason
We have a VERY stable night shift team with consistent charge nurse leadership. ED leadership is very involved and often in the ED, either providing direct patient care, assisting staff with hands on education & training or performing patient rounding to identify opportunities where we can provide better perception of high quality of care to our patients.
