Shift: 12hr Day Shift - 36 Shift Information: 0700 - 1900 Clinical Interviewing- Yes On Call, Call Back Requirements: No call Weekend Rotation: Every other Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays Floating Requirements: Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months Med/Tele RN experience

Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

Small bowel obstructions, general surgery (colectomy, colon/small bowel resections, nephrectomy, hysterectomy, mastectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, splenectomy, thyroidectomy), kidney stones, pneumothorax, bariatric surgery, rib fractures, hip fractures, joint replacements, cellulitis

Patient Ratios:

RN: 1:4-6; surge times could be 1:7-8
LPN: 1:4-6; surge times could be 1:7-8
CNA: 1:8-11

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Skills required: Trach chare, chest tube management, PIV starts, NG tubes, ostomy care, drains, wound care, continuous bladder irrigation, tube feeds, cardiac rhythm interpretation

Support within the Department:

CNA: Duties: Yes, NA 4
No receptionist
Charge nurse, 24/7
Phlebotomy, 24/7 – peripheral blood draws
IV/VAT Team
Resource Nurse – as staffing allows
RT 24/7
Hospitalist 24/7
Intensivist 24/7
Telemetry monitoring/tech: yes - remote

Technology/Equipment:

EMR: EPIC
IV Pump: Client Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Masimo, remote tele

Floating:

Travel nurses will be first to float to other nursing units and provide flexible staffing support based on patient care needs and staffing demands. They will demonstrate adaptability and clinical flexibility when floating to other units. Will take patients within scope of practice on any unit (e.g. MedSurg assignment in ICU, MedSurg holds in ED, etc.)
Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises
If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

Scheduling:

Weekend rotation: every other
No call
Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
