Requirements

• Current New Mexico RN License or Compact State RN License

• BLS Certification through AHA required

• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred

• BSN preferred

Assignment Details

• Blocked Scheduling: Not accommodated

• Weekend Requirement: Yes – 2 to 4 shifts per month, rotated among staff

• On-Call Requirement: Yes – 2 to 4 shifts per month, rotated among staff

• Floating: Will float to all Medical/Surgical departments under Maya Sandoval

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5–6

• EMR: Epic

• Dress Code: Grey Scrubs

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

• Provide routine and complex care based on patient needs.

• Administer medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols.

• Monitor patients for treatment effectiveness and potential side effects.

• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.

• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education.

• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.

• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.

• Demonstrate the ability to manage increasingly complex clinical situations and contingencies.

• Meet applicable professional nursing competencies and standards.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Experience:

• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred

Licensure/Certifications:

• Active RN license in the state of employment or Compact RN License

• BLS Certification via AHA required
