UNIT SPECIFICS:

• Number of Beds: 17 inpatient, 2 triage
• Patient Ratios: 1:1–2
• Unit Staffing:
  • Secretary on day shift only
  • No techs
• Type of Equipment:
  • Monica Novii
  • Ambulatory (Telemetry) Monitors
  • Client EFM
• Documentation System: Meditech, Centricity
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
• Floating Policy: MB/Postpartum
• Patient Experience Requirements: AIDET, courtesy, and respect

HOSPITAL SPECIFICS

Certifications:

• BLS
• ACLS
• AWHONN Intermediate FM or C-EFM
• NRP

HIRING PROFILE

REQUESTED SKILL SET:

• IV insertion
• Lab draws
• JADA and BAKRI knowledge
• Blood administration
• Nitrous administration
• Experience with vaginal examinations
• Setting up delivery tables for vaginal deliveries

MUST HAVE:

• Labor & Delivery experience
• Fetal strip interpretation
• Knowledge of common OB medications
• C-section circulator experience
• PACU recovery experience for spinal anesthesia
• Antepartum triage experience
• Knowledge of common complications and treatments for obstetrical complaints
• Ability to assist with epidural placement
• Strong teamwork approach to patient care

PROCEDURES PERFORMED ON UNIT:

• ECV
• C-sections
• Vaginal deliveries
• Assist with vacuum or forceps deliveries as needed
• Epidural placement

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• RN License
• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• AWHONN
