Job Summary

Oneida Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN) to provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment. The ideal candidate will have strong ER experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to remain calm and effective during emergency and crisis situations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department / ER experience – REQUIRED
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Active and unencumbered New York RN License
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS required
• Strong Emergency Department clinical experience
• Excellent communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and identify their immediate and ongoing healthcare needs.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Emergency Department patients.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of LPNs and other assigned support staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and records.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Provide compassionate, customer-focused care and address patient/family concerns.
• Maintain and organize medical supplies and equipment.
• Respond calmly and professionally during emergencies and other high-pressure situations.
• Utilize electronic medical records and computer systems for documentation and communication.

Schedule

• 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
• Every other weekend
• Holidays per unit needs

• 2 years ER experience
• 1 year travel nursing experience
• Unencumbered NY RN License
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

• NIHSS
