Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12hr Day Shift (36)Shift Information: 0700-1930
Clinical Interviewing- YesOn Call, Call Back Requirements: Overnight call once a week (7pm -7am) - will not be scheduled to work same day coming off of call.Weekend Rotation: One night of call/week is possibleHoliday Requirements: Need to be available for 2 holidays over the 12-week block (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Years Eve/Day)Floating Requirements: Yes, Mid shift floating is possible. Can be floated to different location each day. Will get an assignment email the day before next shift.
General Information:
Beds: throughout hospital
- Census: Average patients/day: 2 pts/shift
Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year minimal of inpatient or outpatient HD exp
Will you accept a first-time traveler: YES
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- Acute/Inpatient hemodialysis
- Bedside treatment
- ESRD, Acute kidney injury
Patient Ratios:
- Traveler can expect to see 2 patients per shift, with 1:1 patient ratios.
Required Licensure & Certifications:
- State Licensure
- BLS (AHA)
Skills required:
- Ability to work independently, yet strong team player.
- Traveler will be floating throughout north region inpatient hospitals to dialyze
- Operative portable RO, setup and operate hemodialysis machine, access hemodialysis catheter, access fistula/graft
Support within the Department:
- Traveler will have constant support of manager while on assignment, as well as support of team (via text), and staff on site at each facility.
- Typically hospital support includes dialysis tech, educator, nephrologist
Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC
- Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
- Unit specific equipment: BBraun and Milimum HX-preferred experience
Floating:
- Yes, Mid shift floating is possible. Can be floated to different location each day. Will get an assignment email the day before next shift.

Orientation (facility and unit) :
- Traveler can expect to receive 1-2 weeks of orientation, based on comfort level. Unit will try to orientate them to all facilities they will be rotating to, but no guarantee. Will work in tandem with another RN for 2 days before treating patients alone.
- Hospital Orientation- may not float to all facilities during orientation
- Machine day
- Online modules
- EPIC training if needed
- 2 days of tandem- working alongside another RN
Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: Based on unit needs
- On call: If so, what is that schedule: Overnight call once a week (7pm -7am) - will not be scheduled to work same day coming off of call.
- Holiday Expectations: 1 holiday per contract
- RTO: YES- manager approval for holiday time
- Shift times: 7a-7:30p (30-minute lunch)
- Schedule cycle: Entire schedule will be provided during orientation
