• Level IV Trauma Center
• Level III NICU
• Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Teaching hospital
• Beds: 228

General Information : 

• Beds: 1 Room

Experience: 1 year, any setting accepted
First-time traveler: Yes, if candidate has 5 years of MRI experience. Otherwise, no.

Patient Types:

• Inpatient, outpatient. Mostly adults, could see some neonatal patients
• General MSK, breast, strokes, head/beck/back issues, soft tissue injuries, brain scans, MRCP, extremities. Trauma MRI is unlikely but possible.
• Schedule breast biopsies
• Limited appointment times each week for patients with pacemakers
• No sedation/anesthesia patients currently

Census:  10-12 MRI patients daily

Required Certifications:

• BLS, ARRT. MR certification with ARRT highly preferred but not required
• Will accept candidate who is ARMRIT certified

Skills required

• Experience with the above patient types.
• Proficient in starting peripheral IVs
• Comfortable working as solo MRI Tech

Support on the Unit:

• Director with MRI background
• Radiologist on site 0700-1600, remote radiologist 24/7. Call coverage is typically weekday evening 2000-0600 and all weekend
• ED located nearby if support needed
• Shared general work area with CT Techs if support needed
• RT 24/7
• Hospitalist 24/7
• Rapid Response/Code Team 24/7

Charting System/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Med Dispensing: Pyxis
• PACS: McKesson
• Unit specific equipment: Siemens Aera

Floating:

• None
• Department orientation dependent on skill set and comfort level

Orientation:

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: Every 3 rd weekend, on call
• Can we approve time off: Send to manager for approval
• Will they be on call: Yes
  • Every 3 rd week on call for nights, 2000-0600
  • 30-minute response time
• Schedule: set schedule, refer to requisition for schedule
• Holiday Expectations: could be on call. Will divide holidays equally amongst MRI Techs here
